Chrysalidocarpus (previously Dypsis) baronii is a clustering palm from north, central and west Madagascar where they grow from 800 to over 1400 meters altitude. On this altitude the air is moist and the temperature never gets high. Together with Chrysalidocarpus decipiens this is one of the most frost tolerant palms of Madagascar. They can tolerate up to -6°C. In our experience it is the easiest of all Chrysalidocarpus species.
