De Crocosmia aurea originates from South-East Africa and produces orange flowers. It starts flowering a bit earlier then other Crocosmia species in May. It grows up to 120cm high, flowers and all above ground parts die off in fall and starts growing again in early spring. It can tolerate heavy frosts of up to -28°C.
These plants drop their leaves in winter. If you order a plant during winter, expect to get a plant without leaves.
