The Sabal brazoriensis is also called the Brazoria Sabal or Sabal X texensis. This palm originates from Brazoria county, Texas and were noticed because they were much larger that other Sabal species. It turned out that they are an ancient hybrid between Sabal minor and possibly Sabal palmetto. The trunks can grow to about three meters high and the palmate leaves can get huge. the growth is faster than most Sabal species. This is probably the most cold tolerant trunk forming Sabal species. Based on our experience they can tolerate at least -15°C.
