A tall trunking Sabal with a slender trunk. It originates from central Mexico and is found from 600 up to 1300 meters altitude. The leaves are heavily costapalmate. It may be the most elegant of all Sabals. The cold tolerance of this species is not yet clear but it is expected that it can handle at least light to moderate frosts.
