Toona sinensis 'Flamingo'

A beautiful clustering tree that is also called the onion soup tree. It has a slender upright growth habit which also makes it suited for small gardens. The new leaves that appear in spring are pink like a Flamingo and later turn green. A spectacular sight in the spring garden. We have no clue why it is so rarely offered. It is frost tolerant up to -18°C, but shoots might freeze back a bit in heavy frosts.

These plants drop their leaves in winter. If you order a plant during winter, expect to get a plant without leaves.
