Caryota maxima 'Himalaya'

A large fishtail palm from the Hymalaya that grows up to 2200 meters altitude. It is fast growing and it is said this is the most frost tolerant of all Caryota. We tried this palm in The Netherlands and unfortunately it was unable to survive the winter outside. In our unheated greenhouse however it does tolerate light frost.
