The Musa basjoo is one of the easiest banana species. It produces multiple pseudo stems near the main trunk. It is one of the hardiest banana species and the rhizomes tolerate heavy frosts. 

These plants drop their leaves in winter. If you order a plant during winter, expect to get a plant without leaves.
