This Phoenix theophrasti originates from the Datça peninsula in the east of Turkey. At least two populations of Phoenix theophrasti exist on this peninsula. Further south there are two more populations and to the north the population of Golkoy is located. The Datça theophrasti are strong palms that tolerate frosts of up to -10°C.
