Sabal sp. Tamaulipas

This rare Sabal originates from the state of Tamaulipas in Mexico from an altitude of about 500m. It is still unclear if this palm is a new species or a variety of an existing species. It represents a Sabal minor, although all its parts grow larger, the leaves and even the seeds are twice the size. Sabal sp. Tamaulipas shows good cold tolerance to about -15˚C and grows best in moist, shady conditions.
