This rare palm originates from South-eastern Florida but is considered extinct in the wild because of urbanization. The species looks similar to Sabal etonia but has larger fruit and inflorescence is divided into three orders instead of two. It is a small palm that hardly forms a trunk. It tolerates light frosts.
